Do The New You by Steven Furtick

Do The New You by Steven Furtick

SYNOPSIS

The concept of "Do The New You" centers around embracing the tasks that align with your divine purpose. It involves breaking away from the persona you've adopted over the years to conform to societal expectations set by peers, family, or work. Often, individuals find themselves living on autopilot, setting aside their dreams and aspirations for the sake of what they perceive as reality.

This book guides you in shedding the societal norms you've imposed on yourself to rediscover your authentic self as known by God. It highlights that your true essence is crafted by God, yet earthly influences may lead you astray from your identity in Christ. It's common to lose sight of this, but the time has come to reclaim your true self.

God communicates with you based on your genuine identity, not the flawed image painted by worldly judgments. Biblical figures like Jacob, renamed Israel, or Abram, renamed Abraham, exemplify this transformative journey. Despite their shortcomings, God saw their potential and bestowed upon them new roles and blessings.

Similarly, figures like Sarai, renamed Sarah, and Simon, renamed Peter, experienced personal growth through their encounters with God, transcending their past mistakes. Even Saul, later known as Paul, underwent a profound transformation from a persecutor to a preacher, impacting countless lives through his divine calling.

These individuals, among many others, chose to answer God's call, stepping away from mundane existence to embrace their inherent greatness and purpose. Their willingness to follow God's guidance led to remarkable transformations and legacies that endure to this day.

MY THOUGHTS

There are 6 mindsets that Pastor Steven goes over and after reading each one, I want you to tell me which one resonates with you the most.

  1. I’m Not Stuck Unless I Stop
  2. Christ Is In Me. I Am Enough.
  3. With God There’s Always a Way and By Faith I Will Find It
  4. God Is Not Against Me, But He’s In It With Me, Working Through Me, Fighting For Me
  5. My Joy Is My Job
  6. God Has Giving Me Everything I Need For the Season I’m In

Two Mindsets That Made a Difference for Me

Discovering the power of "My Joy Is My Job" and "God Has Given Me Everything I Need For the Season I’m In" has truly shifted my perspective. These mindsets emphasize the importance of prioritizing my happiness. True joy comes from within and is a priceless treasure that only God can provide. It's crucial to hold onto this joy and entrust your feelings to Him. He offers the best guidance and understanding during challenging times.

The second mindset resonates with me as it teaches resilience in facing struggles effectively. We all encounter difficulties, but it's how we navigate through them that shapes us. Instead of letting struggles defeat us, we should view them as opportunities for personal growth.
