SYNOPSIS

Priscilla Shirer articulately explains the true enemy we are in constant battle with and how to protect ourselves from his assaults. She emphasizes that we face a very real adversary whose intentions are to kill, steal, and destroy. Shirer reminds us that our struggles are not against flesh and blood; the individuals who confront us in our workplaces, on the roads, in schools, or at home are not our true foes. Instead, it is the devil and his minions. She provides us with insights into the enemy's mindset and tactics while equipping us with the necessary tools to defend our hearts and minds against his attacks.

This book is a valuable resource to keep close during challenging times. Be sure to highlight the key points that can assist you when facing difficult battles.

Priscilla has previously supported me with another work, which I would describe as a devotional/study guide titled "Armor of God." I believe it is a spinoff of this book, but I won’t delve into that right now as I'll discuss it later.

She encouraged me to reflect on the enemy's schemes and effectively plays devil's advocate, helping me understand how the enemy operates. This way, when challenges arise, I’ll be prepared to respond. This book truly serves as a strategy for when I'm confronting a struggle. It's one to keep prominently on your shelf for those moments when you need specific reminders.

However, this book does not replace the Bible – nothing can. Yet, God provides us with additional resources to address the specific challenges we encounter. He has placed individuals like Priscilla in our lives to shine as lights, so remember that seeking help from others is entirely acceptable.

What I recently learned while navigating a current battle, as I write this, comes from Proverbs 24:6: "Don’t go to war without wise guidance; victory depends on having many advisors." This serves as a reminder that we shouldn't face our struggles alone. God has intentionally positioned the right people in your life at just the right time to support you through your difficulties.
